Problems viewing Sky Yahoo Mail

Are you having problems viewing your Sky Yahoo Mail inbox? There are six steps you can do to fix the problem.

  • 1. Check service status

    Firstly, please check our service status page. Service problems can sometimes mean you're unable to sign in and view your Sky Yahoo Mail.

    > Check service status

    You'll need your Sky iD to sign in. If you don't have your username or password handy don't worry you can retrieve them online.

  • 2. Check your time and date settings

    If there are no service issues, please check the time and date settings on your computer. These settings need to be correct in order for your Sky Yahoo Mail to work properly.

    Windows XP, Vista and 7

    1. Right click on the time on the bottom right of the screen.
    2. Select Adjust date and time.
    3. Amend the date and time if needed.

    Windows 8

    1. Hover over the top right hand side of the screen.
    2. Select Search.
    3. Select Settings.
    4. Type Date and Time in the search bar.
    5. Select the Date and Time App.
    6. Select Change date and time if the current date and time is incorrect.

    Mac OSX

    1. Select the time on the top right corner of the screen.
    2. Select date & time preferences.
    3. Amend the date and time if needed.

  • 3. Check your web browser is compatible

    Your web browser needs to be supported by Sky Yahoo Mail in order to view your emails on your computer. The browsers listed below are all fully supported by Sky Yahoo Mail:

    • Google Chrome version 25 and above
    • Internet Explorer 9 and above
    • Mozilla Firefox version 19 and above
    • Safari version 4.0 and above
    Please note you must have cookies enabled to use Sky Yahoo Mail regardless of which browser you are using. 

  • 4. Sign in with your Sky iD

    If you've tried the steps above and you have a compatible web browser, try signing in to My Sky with your Sky iD.

    • If you're able to sign in with your Sky iD try opening your Sky Yahoo Mail inbox by selecting Email from the top menu on Sky.com.
    • If your Sky Yahoo Mail inbox doesn't display, please try the next step.

  • 5. Enable JavaScript on your web browser

    Sky Yahoo Mail needs to have JavaScript enabled to function properly. Follow the instructions below to enable JavaScript on your web browser.

    Google Chrome

    1. Open your web browser and click Customize and control Google Chrome.
    2. Select Settings, then Show advanced settings.
    3. In the Privacy section, select Content settings.
    4. Under the JavaScript section, make sure Allow all sites to run JavaScript (recommended) is selected, then select OK to close.
    5. Refresh the page for the changes to take effect.

    Safari

    1. Open your web browser and select Preferences from the Safari menu.
    2. Select Security.
    3. Check Enable JavaScript in the Web Content section
    4. Close the window.
    5. Refresh the page for the changes to take effect.

    Mozilla Firefox

    1. Open your web browser and from the Firefox menu in the top left corner, select Options.
    2. Select the Content tab.
    3. Mark the Enable JavaScript tick box.
    4. Select OK to close.
    5. Refresh the page for the changes to take effect.

    Internet Explorer

    1. Open your web browser and from the menu select the Tools menu before selecting Internet Options.
    2. Select the Security tab followed by Custom level.
    3. When the Security Settings - Internet Zone window opens, look for Scripting.
    4. Select Active Scripting followed by Enable.
    5. You’ll see a message asking Are you sure you want to change the settings for this zone? Select Yes.
    6. In the Internet options window click OK to close.
    7. Refresh the page for the changes to take effect.

  • 6. Reset your web browser settings

    Changes to web browser settings, add-ons or plug-ins can sometimes cause sign in problems with Sky Yahoo Mail. Reset your web browser settings to default and fix the problem.

    Google Chrome

    1. Open your web browser and select Customize and control Google Chrome.
    2. Select Settings from the menu.
    3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and then select Show advanced settings.
    4. Select Reset settings.
    5. Select Reset to complete the process.


    Safari

    1. Open your Safari web browser.
    2. Select  Safari in the menu bar, located at the top of your screen.
    3. A drop-down menu will now appear. Select Reset Safari from the menu.
    4. A warning dialog will now appear.
    5. Select Reset to complete the process.
    6. Your Safari browser will now restart automatically.

    Mozilla Firefox

    1. Open your Mozilla Firefox web browser.
    2. Select Tools and then select Clear Private Data or Clear Recent History.
    3. In the time range to clear box, select Everything.
    4. Depending on which version of Firefox you have either select all of the checkboxes or select Details, then select the checkboxes.

    Internet Explorer

    1. Open your Internet Explorer web browser.
    2. Click on the Cog symbol and then select Internet Options.
    3. Select the Advanced tab followed by Reset.
    4. Select the Delete personal settings check box to remove browsing history, search providers, accelerators, home pages, and InPrivate Filtering data.
    5. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, select Reset.
    6. When Internet Explorer finishes applying default settings, select Close followed by OK.
    7. Close Internet Explorer.
    8. The changes will take effect the next time Internet Explorer opened.
    9. Select Clear Private Data Now or Clear Now to reset the browser back to default.
