Get started with Sky Go

Sky Go is the streaming service that allows you to watch Sky when you're not in front of the TV. You can now watch programmes on any compatible PC, Mac, laptop, tablet or smartphone – including iPads, iPhones and several Android devices.

Sky Go is free to all Sky TV customers. When you use Sky Go for the first time, you'll be asked to link Sky Go to your TV account.

If you don't have Sky TV, you can still use Sky Go by signing up for Sky Go Monthly Ticket.

How does Sky Go work?

You can watch Sky Go on your computer, or on your tablet or smartphone through the Sky Go app. Each is designed to give you a different way to watch Sky TV content.

  • On your computer

    Sky Go Website

Sign in to the Sky Go website with your Sky iD and password to access these great features:

    • Watch live TV from a host of Sky channels, directly inside your web browser.
    • Watch On Demand programmes, directly inside your web browser.
    • If you upgrade to Sky Go Extra, you can also download On Demand programmes to watch later on your desktop or laptop using the Sky Go Desktop application.

What's more, if you're an existing HD customer (i.e. you have the Family Bundle or Sky HD as part of your TV subscription), you'll soon be able to access our new TV Box Sets on demand section on Sky Go. Customers without an HD subscription will need to upgrade to the Family Bundle to access TV Box Sets through Sky Go.

  • On your tablet or smartphone

    Sky Go app

The Sky Go mobile app works on the most popular tablets and smartphones, including iPads, iPhones and several Android devices. iOS users can download the app from the App Store, while Android users can do the same through Google Play. The name of the app on both platforms is Sky Go.

The Sky Go app allows you to watch live Sky TV channels and access a host of programmes from the On Demand library. You can also download programmes to watch on your tablet or mobile device by upgrading to Sky Go Extra. You can find more information on this in our Download programmes to your tablet or mobile article.

Which devices are supported by Sky Go?

The full list of devices that work with Sky Go can be found on our supported devices list.

Sky Go broadband data usage

All programmes streamed through Sky Go will contribute towards any usage caps imposed by your broadband provider. The same applies for any such streaming done over 3G or 4G mobile networks.

For a broadband service with no usage caps, we recommend Sky Broadband Unlimited.

How many devices can I use to watch Sky Go?

With Sky Go, you can watch TV on the move on up to two devices.

The first two devices on which you use Sky Go will automatically register themselves to use the service. If you then try to watch Sky Go on a third device, you will be advised to switch your registered device settings via the Sky Go website. Registered devices may be changed at most once per calendar month.

You can double the number of devices on which you can use Sky Go by upgrading to Sky Go Extra, allowing you to download programmes to watch offline on up to four devices.

Can I use Sky Go without being a Sky TV customer?

If you're not a Sky TV customer, you can use our Sky Go Monthly Ticket service to access Sky Go from any compatible PC, Mac, laptop, tablet or smartphone – including iPads, iPhones and several Android devices.

With Sky Go Monthly Ticket, you don't need a satellite dish or even a TV – and there's no annual contract. For more information, read our Sky Go Monthly Ticket article.
