Here's how to get up and running with Sky Go on Xbox 360, as well as advice for resolving issues with using the service.

Installing Sky Go on Xbox 360

  1. Ensure that your Xbox 360 is online.
  2. Sign in to Xbox Live and then go to Video Marketplace.
  3. Highlight the Sky tile and press the A button.
  4. Select the preferred storage location (this will typically be the hard drive on your Xbox 360).
  5. Select Download.
  6. Once the download completes, press the A button to launch Sky Go.
  7. You may receive a prompt advising you to update your Sky Go software. If this appears, select Download Now to install the update.

General troubleshooting steps for Sky Go on Xbox 360

The troubleshooting steps below can help to resolve the following error messages:

  • "Sorry, it was not possible to validate your subscription"
  • "Sorry, there was a problem displaying this page"
  • "Sorry, it has not been possible to start the Sky TV application"

Check service status

Check our Service Status page to see if there are any known problems with the Sky Go service. If any issues are identified, please wait until this has been resolved.

Clear the cache

  1. Go to My Xbox, and select System Settings.
  2. Select Memory.
  3. Highlight any of the listed storage devices (hard drive, USB or memory unit) and press the Y button on your Xbox 360 controller. It doesn’t matter which storage device you select, as the cache will be cleared for all storage devices. Important: Do not press the A button at this stage.
  4. Select Clear System Cache, then Yes when prompted to confirm storage device maintenance.
  5. You will see the onscreen message "Performing Maintenance" while the cache is cleared. This may take a few moments to complete.
  6. Highlight the storage device where Sky Go is installed and press the A button (this is typically the hard drive).
  7. Highlight Games and then press the A button.
  8. Highlight Sky in the list and press Y to display the Game Options.
  9. Highlight Delete and press the A button.
  10. Select Yes when the prompt appears on your TV screen.

Reinstall Sky Go

  1. Ensure that your Xbox 360 is online.
  2. Sign in to Xbox Live, and then go to Video Marketplace.
  3. Highlight the Sky tile and press the A button.
  4. Select the preferred storage location (this will typically be the hard drive on your Xbox 360).
  5. Select Download Again.
  6. Once the download completes, press the A button to launch Sky Go.
  7. If you receive a prompt advising you to update your Sky Go software, select Download Now to install the update.

What if I can't sign in to use Sky Go on Xbox 360?

If you can't sign in to Sky Go on Xbox 360, check that you've entered your Sky iD and password correctly. If you can't remember your Sky iD username or password, use the forgotten username or forgotten password page to reset your details, and then try signing into Sky Go on your Xbox 360 again.

Can I watch Sky Go on a different Xbox 360?

If you want to watch Sky Go on a different Xbox 360 to the one you currently use, you must first remove the registration of your existing console:

  1. Sign in to the Sky Go website, using your Sky iD and password.
  2. Select Settings at the top of the screen.
  3. Select Manage Devices on the left of the screen.
  4. Select Remove Device next to your Xbox 360.

Now try to use Sky Go on another Xbox 360. This will register the new Xbox 360 on your account. You can change registered devices only once per calendar month.

Can I use Sky Go with more than one Xbox Live account?

Yes, you can use any Xbox Live Gold account to watch Sky Go on your registered Xbox 360, as your Sky Go account is registered to your Xbox 360 and not your Xbox Live Gold account.

Error message: “Sorry, it was not possible to complete payment”

Check that your payment details are up to date on the Sky Go website.
